Alongside my private practice I have offered teaching to counselling/psychotherapy schools/universities and counselling services. Until 2025 I was teaching GSRD, Kink/BDsM at the Minster centre, psychotherapy training school in London.
GSRD is an important subject that has very little understanding in psychotherapy, institutional and organisational systems. I am looking to offer my teaching further afield to other schools of counselling/psychotherapy, or to organisations, public bodies, community groups etc. The course can be adapted to the client groups, but there will be fundamental teaching points/style that remains the same. I currently offer from half day to a weekend course. The minimum will be a half-day teaching.
The key aim of the teaching is for the group participants to have a better knowledge of sexuality and gender models, in order to find empathy and understanding with people who live GSRD identities outside of cis/heteronormativity. Equally, the group members will gain a greater understanding of their own gender and sexuality and how this has impacted their lives. I also offer specific training working with trans/non-binary clients. In addition to this, I can offer more advanced training to improve clinical knowledge of working with GSRD clients. I teach with a leaning towards a more experiential style, with lived experience, social justice and community models being foundational.
